MILAN—Mido organizers reported that final attendance at the international optics exhibition held here on a new, three-day timetable Mar. 5-7 was 42,000 visitors, traffic "on a par" with last year's show, including a 5.5 percent increase in attendees from outside of Italy.

MEXICO CITY—On March 1, HAL Holding signed an agreement to acquire a 25 percent interest in Grupo Optico Lux, the 69-store optical chain based here.
As part of the deal, HAL also received an option to purchase an additional 45 percent of the Mexican chain.
