PLEASANTON, Calif.—CooperVision, the contact-lens division of The Cooper Companies (NYSE: COO), reported revenues of $217.8 million for Cooper’s second quarter ended April 30. That total was about even with last year’s Q2, according to the company, but up 4 percent at constant currency rates. In Q2, CooperVision’s sales in the Americas rose 3 percent to $97.8 million. Sales in Europe fell 4 percent in the period to $81.5 million, while sales in the Asia Pacific region rose 1 percent to $38.5 million.

Within its contact lens categories, CooperVision's sales of toric CLs fell 11 percent in Q2 to $65.4 million. Sales of multifocal contact lenses were $14.6 million in the period, up 6 percent, while sales of non-single-use spheric and other CLs dropped 9 percent to $93.9 million. The Cooper Companies is still projecting full-year revenues for CooperVision of between $865 million and $925 million for the 2009 fiscal year.
