WINDERMERE, Fla.—Vmax Vision, a developer of diagnostic instrumentation based here, is launching an integrated vision system consisting of the PSF Refractor and Encepsion lenses. Optometric and ophthalmic clinicians can use the Vmax Refraction technology to more accurately refract patients, the company said.

The PSF Refractor features a patented Integrated Vision System that allows ECPs to provide their patients with the most accurate refraction available, directly incorporating patient subjective input. The unit, which neutralizes wavefront aberrations and features EMR connectivity, it is up to five times more precise than the phoropter, measuring to 0.05D accuracy, according to Vmax Vision.

This data can be used to prescribe premium Encepsion PALs and single vision lenses, which are made using digital free-form Diamond Point Technology, incorporating the patient’s lifestyle and individualized fitting data. The advanced lens design results in a wider field of view, better comfort and the highest acuity achievable at all distances, according to Vmax. Encepsion single vision lenses are aspheric and optimized for thinness, comfort, low distortions and wide field of view. Encepsion PALs are customized for the patient’s lifestyle. Encepsion single vision lenses and PALs are available in all lens materials, Transitions and polarized, and can accommodate all type of frames, Rx sport and sunwear.

“This is an unprecedented technology for eyecare practitioners. It represents the first breakthrough in subjective refraction in over 80 years,” said Shui Lai, PhD, founder and CEO, Vmax Vision. “The PSF Refractor gives leading edge practitioners the opportunity to use a state-of-the-art refraction system and provide their patients with the best possible vision and a more relaxed refraction experience.”
