It may not feel like it for some of us in (unseasonably!) warm climes but snow season is upon us. In this Hi Vis we feature three companies that are leveraging the winter weather with some smart partnerships and clever campaigns…

Spy Optics from Orange 21 is ready for this snow season with the Platoon, the world’s first oversized performance-driven goggle and its corresponding billboard campaign. When Mammoth Mountain held its opening weekend festivities from Nov. 10-13, Spy’s “Oversized For Your Pleasure” Platoon goggle campaign was prominently displayed with two billboards on Highway 395, south of Campground Entrance in Independence and North of Inyo/Kern for visitors to see. Bolle Eyewear from Bushnell Outdoor Products and Telluride Ski Resort in Colorado have partnered on a multi-year deal that makes the sunglass and goggle maker the official eyewear of one the world’s most renowned big mountain resorts. Telluride’s ski hill, golf club and full complement of family activities are a match for Bolle’s product line, which includes goggles and lifestyle and sport-specific sunglasses for alpine, cycling, golf and marine. Bolle’s partnership with Telluride will enable the brands to leverage their reach into core markets and with key demographics and provides for co-op advertising and social media campaigns this winter…

Smith Optics from Safilo has renewed its relationship as the official eyewear provider of Silverton Mountain. Silverton Mountain in Colorado is known for its epic, un-groomed terrain where the average annual snowfall of over 400” exceeds the amount of daily visitors. With a peak elevation of 13,487, it is the highest ski area in North America and is surrounded by some of the most rugged terrain accessible by chairlift. Silverton Mountain has set the bar for skiers and snowboarders looking for a unique, untamed experience and Smith Optics is on board to provide the eyewear and helmets to those intrepid enough to visit.
