Artist collaborations are ubiquitous in music, especially in R&B, rap and pop. In this week’s edition of Bold Face we feature three different rap collaborations and the eyewear that pops up in the mix…
It seems like every rapper on the planet is jockeying to work with Nikki Minaj. Hot off a win for Best Female Video for her song “Starships” at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, she is the hottest female MC in the game right now and her latest collaboration is with rapper B.o.B. on the song “Out Of My Mind.” In the video, shot in what appears to be an insane asylum, Minaj appears as a sexy doctor spitting hot fire at a restrained B.o.B. wearing the Barton Perreira Valerie glasses and not a whole lot else…
Rapper Big Sean collaborated with sensation singer/songwriter Justin Bieber on the recent single “As Long as You Love Me” off of Bieber’s third studio album, Believe. The song is R&B/electronic dance with heavy dub step, which builds to a rave-ready drop. Bieber released s short film in lieu of a music video to accompany the track and the song’s club-ready rhythm. In true celeb fashion, Big Sean dons some serious sunnies in the form of the Calvin Klein Jeans CKJ101S from Marchon…
Less of a musical collaboration than a romantic one, Wiz Khalifa was snapped on the Billboard Awards red carpet in May wearing Retro Super Future’s Flat Top sunglasses along with fiancĂ©e Amber Rose. Though Rose has appeared in Khalifa’s video for “No Sleep” and Khalifa was featured in Rose’s debut single “Fame” in the beginning of the year, their greatest collaboration is their recent announcement that the couple is expecting their first child together due in February 2013.
