Agenda Set for Sunglass Association of America’s Annual Meeting Oct 5 to 6 in Lake Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS—The Sunglass Association of America (SAA), which is now a division of The Vision Council, will be hosting its final free-standing annual meeting for its members in October, just following the close of Vision Expo West.
The SAA annual meeting will be held Oct. 5 to 6, 2008 at the Ritz Carlton Resort in Lake Las Vegas, Nev. Registration starts Sunday evening of the Oct. 5 and the full-day program of the annual meeting on the Oct. 6 will include a current “state of the industry” and world economy overview, past activity highlights and a look new initiatives on the technology and public relations fronts.
Keynote speaker for the meeting is Jeff Thredgold. He is president of Thredgold Economic Associates, an economic consulting and professional speaking company based in Salt Lake City, Utah. His latest book, econAmerica: Why the American Economy is Alive and Well…And What That Means to Your Wallet, was published by Wiley & Sons in July 2007. In econAmerica, Thredgold explains in detail the four key factors, or “silver bullets,” that will drive the American economy for years to come.
The group’s annual dinner on Oct 6 will feature presentations and special awards to recognize those who have led the SAA in the past.
According to Dave Bibbey, chair of The Vision Council’s new sunglass and reader division, and formerly president of the SAA, “We have a lot of exciting things planned for this last annual meeting. Going forward, the SAA’s annual meeting will become a part of The Vision Council’s annual executive summit.”
