JOB DESCRIPTION: This position requires an ophthalmic technician with proven skills and related certifications. This tech is responsible for preparing and assisting in the OR with current refractive surgical technologies, including the microkertome and Allegretto Wave Eye-Q. Responsible for sterilizing the OR and maintaining medical stock. Must oversee patient care from beginning to end. Interacts with physicians to maintain the integrity of the patient and staff schedule. Needs to have the ability to assess common safety hazards and take precautions to establish a safe work environment. Finally, this tech needs to understand the need for efficient use of time to accomplish all necessary tasks. This position works under supervision of lead technician. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or at least one year of related experience/training in a refractive surgery center, or equivalent combination of education and experience in order to perform at the level of a COT. Required within 1 year of hire to secure COA certification. Will need to become certified on lasik lasers and microkeratomes. MULTIPLE POSITIONS AVAILABLE.
