Center Director - Portland

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $50,000 to $70,000 annually

Job Purpose: Center Directors are accountable for the vision center’s profit and loss, clinical and professional relations, while ensuring that patient care remains a priority. The Center Director works closely with the center’s surgeon, optometrist, staff, and colleagues throughout the company, to provide excellence in patient care while growing a profitable business operation. Key responsibilities: 1. General Management • Is accountable for achieving monthly revenue goals through sound management of the discount strategy, management of costs, including Associate overtime, travel and inventory management and utilization of data and key reports • Able to fill in for Technicians or Patient Care Representatives as needed • Brings and sustains the center to an appropriate level of profitability • Meets/exceeds center and market level key performance indicators, including conversion and show rate • Ensures the center’s look/feel/flow is congruent with providing an exceptional patient experience • Closes the register daily and is responsible for cash management and loss prevention • Manages the center hours and staffing schedule • Identifies, manages and shares best practices 2. Talent Management • Manages block time to uphold corporate standards, ensuring slot time availability for preops and treatments • Coaches and develops Associates for optimal performance and succession planning • Demonstrates company philosophy and culture • Ensures Associates meet guidelines regarding certification requirements • Ensures accountability for self and staff regarding company policies • Monitors Associate files for certifications, training, and annual testing. • Ensures all roles in the vision center work together to maximize conversions • Provides clear communication to patients using the eyeConnect techniques to improve conversions • Sets goals and provides feedback to center Associates to improve performance • Ensures all Associates perform tasks ethically • Uses patient survey results as guides to coach Associates 3. Compliance • Manages costs relating to vendor management. Partners with vendor trainers as necessary • Manages center real estate issues related to tenant improvement allowances, property management and leases • Proactively ensures clinical and corporate standards are being met across all requirements such as spore testing, laser calibration and chart/records retention • Participates in quarterly audits and center assessments to comply with corporate and clinical standards • Prepares charts in accordance with company policies • Contacts the Risk department as necessary for incident reports and other issues • Inputs patient data and outcomes into system • Oversees proper documentation and procedures are being executed 4. Marketing • Has knowledge of market’s competitive landscape • Engages in local marketing initiatives, both planned and spontaneous • Participates in initiatives to help the local community Qualifications • At least 5 years retail management experience, including supervising others • P&L ownership experience • Demonstrated ability to influence and manage a customer/patient centric environment • Strong written communication skills • Proven negotiating skills • Effective interpersonal communication skills • Must have 2 years + experience in the medical field Preferred Qualifications • Prior industry experience • COA certification • Bachelor’s degree • Experience with EMRs is preferred • Billing and coding management
