We currently have an opening for a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant The Certified Ophthalmic Assistant performs patient-oriented procedures and services under the supervision of the department Office Manager and/or practitioner in a medical office setting. Duties include applying drops to patient’s eyes, using various diagnostic machines including but not limited to auto-refractor, FDT, HRTII, Retinal Camera, Topography and IOL master. The candidate will be responsible for testing for visual acuity, conducting basic pupil exam, motility exam, and measuring intraocular pressure using Tonopen equipment. He/she will perform visual field examinations using automated visual field machine. The candidate may need to travel to different practice locations. Requirements & Skills: • Must be a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) • Complete an independent study course or accredited training program • Two (2) years of back office experience • Ability to work in an environment involving a high level of activity • Bilingual in Spanish preferred We offer competitive salaries and benefits.
