yesterday, Advanced Medical Optics (NYSE: EYE) revealed a new
cost-cutting plan that will eliminate about 5 percent of its global

PADOVA, Italy—The board of directors of the Sàfilo Group (SFL.MI), chaired by Vittorio Tabacchi, today appointed Roberto Vedovotto as the company’s new chief executive officer. In addition, Claudio Gottardi has resigned as a member of the group's board of directors, while maintaining his position as CEO of Sàfilo USA. Massimiliano Tabacchi has assumed the position of Safilo Group's executive vice chairman, and will continue to supervise the group and oversee its strategic direction.

CARLSBAD, Calif.—The board of directors of Orange 21 [Nasdaq: ORNG],
owner of Spy Optic, has filed a document with the United States
Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) rejecting a proposal from Mark
Simo, No Fear, Inc. CEO, to merge the company with No Fear Retail
Stores Inc. Orange 21 stated in the SEC filing, "The company reviewed
the proposal and is not considering it further at this time."
