ALEXANDRIA, Va.—November is American Diabetes Month and the American Diabetes Association is shining a spotlight on the serious disease that leads to potentially life-threatening complications such as heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, blindness and amputation.
The group is launching a national movement to Stop Diabetes and is inviting consumers to share their personal stories by visiting
StopDiabetes.com and to join the group on Facebook and Twitter to learn about all the ways to be a part of the Stop Diabetes movement.
The Association points out that 24 million children and adults in the U.S. live with diabetes, 57 million Americans are at risk for type 2 diabetes and that one out of every three children born today will face a future with diabetes if current trends continue.
