PLAINVIEW, N.Y.—National managed vision care company Davis Vision, headquartered here, has appointed two executives to key management positions. Tracee Thomson has been named vice president of marketing, and Judy Carson has joined the company as vice president of human resources.

In her newly created position, Thomson will lead Davis Vision’s marketing efforts including community relations, corporate communications, creative services and the request for proposal (RFP) unit. She also will work to enhance Davis Vision’s brand and image and will oversee coordination of the company’s media and public relations initiatives.

Thomson received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northeastern University in Boston and a master’s degree in public administration from C.W. Post, Long Island University.

In her new position, Carson will be responsible for all of Davis Vision’s human resources functions. She comes to Davis from south Florida and brings extensive experience in human resources in the optical and insurance industries. Her extensive experience includes positions as a business leader in health care, insurance, retail and manufacturing where she made the transition from legal counsel to human resources administration. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Antioch College, and a J.D. degree from Antioch School of Law in Washington, D.C.

“Tracee and Judy bring strong skills and experiences to their new positions, and I am pleased to welcome them to our leadership team” said Davis Vision president Steve Holden. “We believe the experience they bring to us will be an enormous asset to Davis Vision and the HVHC family of companies as they take on the challenges of their new positions.”
