Ice-Tech Releases ‘Workplace’ PAL

ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla.—Ice-Tech Advanced Lens Technologies has developed a new type of progressive addition lens, the Workplace Lens. The first product in its line of occupational lenses, the Workplace Lens features a digital design that comforts the fatigued eye, according to Ice-Tech, which manufactures the lens using proprietary surfacing technology that maximizes thinness at the center and edge of the lens.

“This lens is ideal for patients who read, cook, do hobbies, or use their computer frequently and have experienced burning eyes, tension, headaches and fatigue,” explained company president Beth Showalter. “It’s the perfect solution with special near comfort lenses that provide adequately wide and sharp fields of vision in the extended close-up range.”

According to Showalter, patients can now change smoothly and without eyestrain when viewing documents, their computer screen or office. Although similar in theory to some other lenses designed to relieve tension, the Workplace Lens is differentiated by its calculation method and radius, she said.

The Workplace Lens is available in three focal lengths: Workplace Near (20-inch range), Workplace Mid (32-inch range) and Workplace Far (44- inch range.)
