PixelOptics said Ronald Blum, OD will become chief visionary officer and will be accountable for leading the design and development of Pixel’s future generational products. Dr. Blum will also remain chairman of the board.

Craig brings nearly 14 years of experience in the optical industry to Pixel. He joined Transitions Optical in July 1999 as general manager/managing director for Transition’s Asia/Pacific operations. He became the company’s chief operating officer in mid-2006, taking over day-to-day leadership for Transitions’ global business at that time. Craig was named president of Transitions in January 2008 and resigned from the position in June, 2010. During Craig’s tenure, Transitions Optical experienced rapid international growth through product improvements, global expansion and strategic alliances.

Dr. Blum stated, “Pixel has invented, developed and launched the most significant innovation in prescription eyewear technology in the last 50 years with its patent-protected, transformational spectacle eyewear product, emPower.
