Sharing the Vision of Visually Impaired Artists

January 23, 2012

FULLERTON, Calif.—Featuring 90 works of art by 60 visually impaired and totally blind artists from throughout the U.S., Canada, Sweden and Israel, the 7th annual Shared Visions International Art Exhibit launched its one-year exhibit last fall at the Southern California College of Optometry. The juried art exhibit, one of only four of its kind in the U.S., is open to the public through mid-August 2012.

Many artists used special low-vision glasses to create their art pieces, represented by many art forms, including fine art, photography, sculpture, mosaics and others. This year’s exhibit has a special focus and educational display about albinism along with an art exhibit by children from Africa with albinism.
