The Artist, a silent movie from French director Michel Hazanavicius, is garnering a lot of award show buzz in 2012, notable because not only is it without dialogue, it also happens to be in black and white. Regardless, the music, costumes and acting have made it a contender. It has already won three Golden Globes including Best Motion Picture-Musicalor Comedy, four Critic’s Choice awards and has been nominated for 12 BAFTA, among a number of other awards and nominations. Bérénice Bejo, who plays a rising actress, Peppy Miller, in the film has been recognized for her outstanding performance including a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress, a SAG for supporting actress and the BAFTA for Best Actress. Here the French actress is the first to wear the Valentino V622S sun style from Marchon’s new collection. No doubt her name will come up again when the Oscar nominations are announced on Jan. 24…





There has been much coverage in the press post-Golden Globes having to do with Elton John’s distaste for Madonna’s win in the Best Original Song category for “Masterpiece” from the film she directed W.E. The British John was also nominated in the category for “Hello Hello” from 2011 animated motion picture Gnomeo & Juliet. Whether its legitimate criticism of a flawed voting system or just sour grapes Bold Face can’t really say but know what isn’t in dispute? Daniel Craig has avoided the type casting that is often associated with a well-known franchise. He can just as seamlessly play the British spy, James Bond, as a Swedish reporter in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo based upon the book by Stieg Larsson. That is great news for the English actor, as the popular (and sexy) Bond movies are less likely to garner the same kind of award nominations as dramatic movies based upon book adaptations. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was nominated for two Golden Globes, two BAFTAs and a Writers’ Guild award and should you worry that Craig is somehow less attractive in this role have no fear. He is still quite good looking in his role as Mikael Blomkvist in the film especially in his Helmut glasses from Mykita.
