FGX to Close StyleMark Florida Facility

SMITHFIELD, R.I.— FGX International Inc., a subsidiary of Essilor International (EI.FR) has decided to close StyleMark’s distribution and support center located in Ormond Beach, Fla. FGX will continue to maintain a presence in Ormond Beach until December 2013 but will begin transitioning operations to FGX’s corporate headquarters, based here, this April.

FGX acquired sunglass maker StyleMark in December 2011. According to FGX, the decision to close the Florida location was made by FGX after it completed a comprehensive review of the facility started after the acquisition. Severance packages will be offered to eligible employees who are not relocated, the company said.
