AUSTIN, Texas—The Opticians Association of America and affiliated state associations will receive royalties for the second year from VisionWeb’s OAA Royalty Program. The payment of $5,570 is based on orders that OAA members placed on VisionWeb to over 400 U.S. suppliers who are part of the VisionWeb supplier network.

OAA members enroll their practices in the program to earn royalties from ordering ophthalmic products over VisionWeb during the annual April-March earning period. Once the practice hits an order volume threshold, they qualify to earn royalties on the transaction fee paid to VisionWeb by the suppliers receiving the orders. This year, 400 accounts from 20 affiliated state associations enrolled to earn royalties, a 21 percent increase over last year. This growth in participation is reflected in the base royalty earnings which increased by 37 percent over the previous earning period.

VisionWeb also acknowledged the Professional Opticians Association of Florida with a check for $1,000 and the title of “VisionWeb OAA State Association of the Year” for having the largest percentage of members enrolled in the program and for increasing their earned royalties by 12 percent over last year’s earning period.

“We are proud to be a partner of the Opticians Association of America and to support the affiliated state associations through the VisionWeb OAA Royalty Program,” said Chris Rice, director of sales for VisionWeb. “It gives opticians an easy way to contribute to their industry organization while increasing their efficiency at the same time. Best of all, the program is ongoing and members will continue earning royalties for the next earning period throughout 2012.”
