‘Power Hour’ Tonight Hosts Discussion of Doctor Alliances and Buying Groups

December 5, 2012 12:18 AM

FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J.—The question of “doctor alliance or buying group?” is the focus of tonight’s scheduled Power Hour, the free weekly online radio talk show hosted by Gary Gerber, OD, founder of The Power Practice, the practice management company.

Featured on tonight’s session will be Mark Feder, OD, founder of IDOC and Michael Block, founder of Block Buying Group who will discuss the evolution of doctor alliances and the role of buying groups and how ECPs choose which, or any, to join.

The Power Hour, which can be heard via Skype or phone every Wednesday night at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time, is a live discussion vehicle for current practice-building events in optometry, political viewpoints and clinical topics. The show welcomes guests, both in and out of the optometric profession. Said Gerber, “We promise to deliver an entertaining, enlightening, topical and easy-to-listen to discourse on all things optometry—and most likely, a few things not so optometry! Because this is a talk radio show, we’ll encourage open and freewheeling discussion. People can listen or choose to actively join in and share stories of their own.”

Listeners can dial in to The Power Hour at 530–881–1400 Access Code, 611964# or listen in from computers via Skype. More info and details of how to access the show are found here.

Power Hour sessions, which launched earlier this year, are archived on The Power Practice site. On topics ranging from social media, to managed vision care and staff hiring issues, users can click to listen to past shows or download segments on iTunes.
