NEW YORK—The 2012 ECP Compensation Study produced by Jobson Optical Research, in conjunction with Local Eye Site, is now available. The study, titled A Portrait of Professional Compensation, includes salary data for optometrists, dispensing staff and office managers.

As the economy continues its recovery, ECPs need to know all they can about appropriate compensation. This extensive study provides average and median compensation for professional and staff titles, enabling ECPs to benchmark compensation policies against the national and regional variances.

For example, the average salary for all optometrists who reported receiving a salary was highest in the Northeast Region at $112,278 and lowest in the Midwest at $102,783. The South came in at $104,650 and the West at $109,000, according to the 2012 study.

The information contained in the study is presented with interpretive commentary and charts comparing and contrasting the data and easy look up data tables are included for quick analysis.
