Cutting-edge musicians, and the DJs who bring their music to our ears, have long been associated with their eyewear. In our latest Hi Vis, this decades-long trend continues with the following three eyewear introductions and the musicians and DJs who rock them…

To launch the Burberry Spark eyewear collection for men and women, Luxottica's Burberry Eyewear presents British musicians Coastal Cities, The Night VI and Broken Hands. Curated by Burberry chief creative officer Christopher Bailey, the campaign was shot in London and celebrates emerging British music talent. Its soundtrack consists of three new singles by the cast, and each track is accompanied by an exclusive music video recorded on set in London and released in May 2013. Reflecting the energy of summer and the vibrant spirit of emerging British music, the new collection features two-tone sunglasses and an optical collection, in square for men and rounded cat-eye for women. The sunglasses are available with either mirrored or tonal lenses. The line also includes foldable aviators with metallic frames, tonal lenses and flexible temples…

IVI Eyewear recently added Leigh Lezark to its crew of ambassadors. Lezark embodies the entrepreneurial spirit of IVI, having parlayed her passion for music into a successful NYC-based dance party turned touring DJ trio, The Misshapes. She’s also embraced her role as a fashion muse, producing music for runway shows around the world, appearing in editorial and advertising campaigns for high fashion labels, and also working with non-profits such as the ONE Campaign. To celebrate the relationship, IVI has released “Revision,” a Spring/Summer 2013 Lookbook exclusively featuring Lezark. Adding a literary slant, the release is also accompanied by an original work of fiction by Sarah Shun-lien Bynum, recently named as one of the New Yorker’s “20 under 40” fiction writers…

Australian singer, songwriter and DJ, Kate Elsworth stars in The Monocle Order’s short film, Always Carry a Spare. Presented as a cautionary tale based on true accurate events, the film reports that “In March 2013, reports of sunglasses theft in Miami spiked to their highest levels ever recorded,” and “84 percent of sunglasses are stolen by someone you know.” With a soundtrack featuring the song “Thought We Were Alone” by Lucky Paul feat. Milosh (Gadi Mizrahi & Eli Gold Money Vs Gold Remix), the film cleverly calls attention to The Monocle Order’s Blood and Tears collection with Elsworth’s awaking to find a note left behind about her stolen sunglasses. Luckily, she has plenty of spares available.
