Thanks to the wild popularity and critical acclaim of the film The Artist, the American people have a few more Bold Face names to keep on their radar. In this edition we highlight our three shiniest new stars…

In the late 1920s, silent films were a dying art form. In 2012, the film The Artist, proves that the art form lives on. The movie follows the life of a silent film actor and actress during the decline of the medium and the introduction of the “talkie.” Already the winner of multiple awards, the film is a favorite headed into the Oscars. French actor Jean Dujardin - who stars as George Valentin, the actor struggling to make the transition - has already won the Golden Globe and SAG awards for Best Actor. So you see he certainly has something to smile about even if he weren’t wearing these great Salvatore Ferragamo SF102L sunglasses from Marchon. Fingers-crossed he makes it a trifecta at the Oscars and takes home the Academy Award…

Playing opposite Dujardin in the film is the Paris-based, Argentinian actress, Bérénice Bejo. She plays Peppy Miller, the silent film ingénue who unlike Valentin makes the seamless transition to talking films. Bejo too is nominated for an Academy Award headed into to the ceremony for Best Supporting Actress. As a nominee in one of the most talked about films of the year she has been making the award season party rounds and recently attended the launch party of Versace’s Étoile De La Mer (Star of the Sea) eyewear collection from Luxottica hosted by Donatella Versace in Paris. Here, the beauty dons a pair of the capsule collection’s sun styles, available in March…

Michel Hazanavicius may be a bit less recognizable than our first two Bold Face names, but he is no less notable. Married to the lovely Bérénice Bejo and father to her two children, he also just happens to be the guy who wrote and directed The Artist. The man responsible for it all has already taken home the BAFTA for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay and the Golden Globe for Best Movie Musical or Comedy, as well as directed his two lead actors into nominations of their own, but he also happens to be a real contender to bring home an Oscar statuette this year as well. After all, in addition to being wildly talented he also happens to look like a natural on the red carpet as seen here at the Golden Globes wearing the Marc Jacobs MJ282S glasses from Safilo.
