Funny lady Mindy Kaling stars as Mindy Lahiri in the FOX comedy series, The Mindy Project. She also created the series and is a co-executive producer, director and writer for several of the show’s episodes. The series follows the life of obstetrician/gynecologist Lahiri as she tries to balance her personal and professional lives, usually comically, surrounded by quirky friends and co-workers. The relatable nature and likeability of Kaling and her cast mates has led to the success of the show’s first season and resulted in the renewal of the series for a second. Diane Kruger stars in a new television series on FX called The Bridge. Based on the Danish/Swedish series Bron, the drama also stars Mexican actor Demián Bichir and follows two police detectives—one Mexican, one American, played by Bichir and Kruger, respectively—and their joint effort to investigate a serial killer along the Texas–Chihuahua border. Their investigation is complicated by the corruption and apathy of the Mexican authorities and the violence of the borderland drug cartels. The show title refers to the “Bridge of the Americas” that serves as a border crossing between El Paso, Texas and Juárez, Chihuahua, the setting of the series. When not solving crimes, in real life Kruger can be seen wearing the Ralph Lauren RL8070 sunglasses from Luxottica while out and about. Simon Baker stars in The Mentalist, an American police procedural television series on CBS. Now in its sixth season, the show follows former "psychic" Patrick Jane, played by Baker, who is a consultant to the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI), using the highly developed observational skills he previously employed to "read" people's minds. A former con man that used to pose as a psychic medium, Jane partners with the CBI to help them solve crimes while trying to track down the serial killer who murdered his wife and young daughter.
