Singer/songwriter Carly Rae Jepson’s “Call Me Maybe” is topping the charts worldwide and has quickly become the summer’s #1 song. The song alludes to the angst that a love at first sight brings to a girl who is hoping for a phone call from her crush. Since its release earlier this year, Jepsom has performed the song at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards and more recently at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards. The Canadian singer is set to tour with Justin Bieber as his opening act starting in September through April 2013. Lady Gaga exploded onto the music scene in 2008 and has become one of the world most famous and outrageous stars since. One of the songs that led to her rapid rise and popularity is “Telephone” from her 2009 album The Fame Monster which she recorded with fellow megastar Beyoncé Knowles. Gaga has explained that the lyrics portray her preferring the dance floor instead of answering her lover's phone call, with deeper symbolism reflecting not a physical phone but a person in her head telling her to keep working harder and harder. A legend in her own right, Madonna’s oeuvre is long and varied so it isn’t surprising she has a song that plays nicely into Bold Face’s phone call theme. "Hung Up" was released as the first single from her tenth studio album, Confessions on a Dance Floor in October 2005. It has since also made an appearance on her 2009 greatest hits album, Celebration. It should come as no surprise that the song is about a strong, independent woman who has relationship troubles. Time has not slowed the star down. Recently she appeared in Florence to shoot the music video for her latest release “Turn up the Radio.” For the filming she chose to wear the Moschino MO674 “Gatta” acetate sunglasses from Allison.
