RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif.— Eyefinity has partnered with Total Merchant Services to enable independent eyecare professionals to accept mobile, credit card, debit card, gift card, checks and other forms of electronic payments from their customers. Using the service, Eyefinity users can benefit from exclusive offers such as 15 percent savings on merchant processing fees and free equipment valued up to $500 and more.

“Eyefinity and Total Merchant Services are very aligned on developing payment solutions directly targeted to eyecare professionals,” said Joe Kaplan, chief executive officer of Total Merchant Services. “We understand how busy health care professionals are and the importance of securing patient payment data. Total Merchant Services provides a dedicated point of contact for each eyecare practice, a free new credit card terminal and an option to take payments through a variety of mobile devices.”

“All VSP doctors will be able to access this program exclusive to Eyefinity users,” Dave Plevyak, Eyefinity’s senior vice president of business development, told VMail. He explained that the rate of 1.39 percent and 15 cents per transaction is lower than most average credit card company current pricing and that the program also includes a month-to-month agreement with no hidden fees, a free rate review and $100 credit on the first month’s processing. With 16 years of experience in credit card processing for small businesses and health care professionals, Total Merchant Services accepts all major credit cards, including MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover, debit cards and Automated Clearing House (ACH) checks. Eyefinity has begun development on integrating this payment solution with OfficeMate for release in 2013.

“Practices can accept mobile payments from anywhere using a tablet or smartphone by downloading Total Merchant Services’ free Payment Jack app and mobile card swiper,” Plevyak added. “Patients can sign to authorize the transaction and receive a printed receipt or have it e-mailed to them. The mobile payment option can save office staff time and make the patient check-out process more efficient, allowing the staff to process the transaction from the dispensary or anywhere in the office instead of running to the credit card terminal.”
