NEW YORK— The first roster of speakers has been announced for Vision Monday’s 2013 Global Leadership Summit, to be held here March 13.

“Imagination + Invention—Succeeding In A Culture of Change” is the theme of the 7th annual, day-long event and exclusive forum, geared to senior-level executives in the retail, professional, lab and supplier sectors of the optical industry. The VM Global Leadership Summit, which will be held at The Times Center, brings together compelling speakers from within and outside the industry to offer fresh thinking and provocative perspectives.

Speaking about Tapping Imagination and Creativity, is Frank Moss, Director of New Media Medicine group at MIT Media Lab.

In the session, EYE2 Vision Technology to the Next Power, will be: Ami Dror, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer, XPand; Kevin Rankin, CEO, eSight Corp.; Keith P. Thompson, MD, CEO, Digital Vision Systems, and Kip Fyfe, CEO, 4iiii Innovations Inc.

A look at New Healthcare Influencers will include: Annemarie Hagan, President and General Manager, Specialty, WellPoint, Inc. and David Golden, OD, founder, EyeHome Network and co-founder, Professional Eyecare Resource Co-op (PERC).

A session on OMNI-Channel Retailing on the Rise will explore the newest trend among fast-moving businesses, where branding, content marketing and commerce— for retailers, health care companies, suppliers and brands— is taking on new meaning. Traditional channel ‘boundaries’ between brick & mortar, and online are disappearing as mobile grows. What are the implications for eyewear? One of the speakers in this session will be Francis Jean, OD, Founder, President and CEO of IRIS The Visual Group, Canada’s largest eyecare group. Other OMNI-Channel speakers will be announced soon.

The VM Summit’s keynote speaker on Imagination & Creativity will be Robert Safian, Editor, Fast Company.

“How do business leaders embrace new ideas and spur creativity within their existing cultures? The goals of the VM Summit are to provoke discussion, foster exclusive networking opportunities and inspire ideas for senior decision makers in 2013 and beyond,” said Marge Axelrad, SVP and editorial director of Vision Monday.
