Marchon and Vogue Italia Open Their Eyes

NEW YORK—For the fourth consecutive year, Marchon has partnered with Vogue Italia to showcase the company’s latest eyewear trends in an extensive fashion spread, titled “Hold Your Breath and Open Your Eyes,” for the magazine’s March issue.

Spread over 15 pages, the photos were shot underwater in tanks by celebrity photographer Douglas Friedman. The underwater theme captured the elegance and beauty of each eyewear brand in a unique and creative way.

The editorial features models in 13 of Marchon’s licensed brands, including Chloe, Valentino, Salvatore Ferragamo, Fendi, Emilio Pucci, Jil Sander, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Nine West, Diane von Furstenberg, Lacoste, Nike and Karl Lagerfeld. The submerged images showcase the vivid colors, bold geometrics and rich materials that saturate the chosen looks.

First debuted in Italy at Mido, the editorial compilation will be supported stateside through the airing of a behind-the-scenes video in NYC taxi cabs leading up to and during Vision Expo East.

Additionally, Marchon and Vogue Italia will also lend their support to the Optical Women’s Association for their Annual Pleiades Award and Networking Reception, which is being held on March 15 at Milk Studios during Vision Expo and will honor Jobson’s Marge Axelrad, Grady Culbreth of Grady & Associates and Tiara Claxton of Safilo. ■
