CINCINNATI, Ohio—The OneSight Research Foundation has awarded $2,000 to each of the 20 winners of the 2013 Dr. Stanley Pearle Scholarship Fund to help support their optometric education. The four-member selection committee reviewed almost 100 applications to identify students who demonstrated leadership, scholastic performance and commitment to community service.

“The winners all honor the legacy of Dr. Pearle, founder of Pearle Vision,” said scholarship committee chair, Mark Jacquot, OD, senior director of eyecare, LensCrafters. “I was moved by each one’s desire to serve others, and I have confidence that they will make a positive and lasting impact in the lives of their future patients.”

The 2013 Dr. Stanley Pearle Scholarship recipients are:

To be eligible, students must be enrolled in a fully accredited college or university that is an approved educational institution pursuing full-time graduate studies in an optometry program. Scholarships are awarded based on evidence of commitment to a career in the optometric profession and to community service and on scholastic performance and potential. Since 2008, the fund has awarded a total of $220,000 in scholarships to 110 students.
