NEW YORK—Show organizers announced yesterday that the McGee Group had been chosen as the winner of the Vision Choice Awards, a contest inviting Vision Expo East attendees to vote on their favorite new product displayed in the Crystal Palace New Product Showcase Gallery here. The McGee Group was chosen for their new Badgley Mischka collection.

The collection was one of 20 products showcased in the gallery. Present to accept the award were Matt McGee, McGee Group executive vice president, and Amy Moore, McGee senior designer. We’re just excited and honored,” said McGee, after accepting the award. “This really means a lot. It’s kind of the icing on the cake of an already successful launch.”

Tom Loughran, vice president of Reed Exhibitions, and Deb Castor, vice president of shows and meetings, The Vision Council, were on hand to present the award. Dana Brady, Reed Exhibitions director of exhibitor marketing, made the presentation.

She said, “Right before we opened, an attendee came up and said, ‘this is the best part of the show, seeing what’s out here.’ People love coming to see what’s here as a preview to what’s going on in the show.”

Brady also announced three shopping spree winners, chosen from the voting pool: David Garcia, OD, Lens Lab Express; Mary DeVeau, Colchester Eye Care; and Jeremy Wilheau, Insight Eyecare.
