LAS VEGAS—Vision Expo West opened its doors here yesterday welcoming the optical industry with some impressive stats: nearly 475 exhibitors, including 75 first-time entrants, stood ready to showcase nearly 5,000 brands and offer more than 575 show specials to attendees. After months of preparation, the stage was set for unveiling new products and technologies as exhibitors and associations played host to dozens of industry gatherings.

“Vision Expo continues to be the destination for all things eyewear and eyecare related,” said Tom Loughran, vice president for Reed Exhibitions. “Yesterday our exhibit hall doors opened to reveal hundreds of new products and technologies and a record number of show specials from exhibitors. The energy felt on the show floor carried well into the evening at networking events hosted by our professional partners. The stage has been set for another robust event.”
