LARGO, Fla. and WILMINGTON, Mass.— Unilens Vision and Bausch + Lomb announced that Unilens has been named an authorized Boston GP Manufacturer. The partnership will provide Unilens' GP independent practitioner accounts with the convenience to choose from a wider variety of GP lens materials that best fit the practitioner's individual patient needs, the companies said.

"At Unilens, we have a longstanding commitment to supporting the growth and strength of high quality independent optometry with some of the best specialty lens technology, materials and dynamic programs available in the industry today. Our new GP manufacturing partnership with Bausch + Lomb solidifies that commitment by providing our independent practitioners with even more GP lens material options in Unilens/C-VUE lens designs, thereby contributing to more patient satisfaction and practice profitability," stated Michael Pecora, CEO of Unilens Vision.

Unilens' bestselling GP design technology, including the new C-Ray Multifocal GP and C-Vue GP Multifocal, will now be available in a variety of Boston materials including Boston ES, Boston EO and Boston XO.

David Bland, director of global GP and custom soft lens business, for Boston Bausch + Lomb added, "We are excited about our partnership with Unilens Vision. Unilens will now be offering their highly successful specialty designs in our leading materials, including Boston XO, which features a high DK of 100 (ISO/FATT method), and is designed for GP standard and special design applications such as corneas with high oxygen demand and presbyopic designs. Also available through Unilens now will be Boston EO material and the Boston ES material, which is a good choice for emerging presbyopes, providing crisp, clear vision at near, intermediate and far distances and has a DK of 18."
