FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J.—Vision therapy is an untapped area of patient care which holds potential for many optometric practices. Barry Tannen, OD, FCOVD, a successful practitioner and associate professor who teaches vision therapy and pediatric vision at SUNY-State College of Optometry, will be the featured guest to discuss the topic on tonight’s edition of “The Power Hour,” the free weekly online radio talk show hosted by Gary Gerber, OD, founder of The Power Practice, a practice management company.

Stated Gerber, “The old school thinking about vision therapy no longer applies since there are numerous well done studies that support the efficacy of vision therapy (VT), and tens of thousands success stories exist. With all that said, why do so few practices offer VT to their patients? Barry has a wildly profitable practice, EyecareProfessionalsPC in Hamilton Square, N.J., and has consulted with other doctors on how to manage a thriving VT practice. He’ll talk about the opportunities as well as offer great advice for those who already do have VT as part of their practice.”
