MINNEAPOLIS—InVision Distinctive Eyewear opened it fourth location in the trendy, fast-growing North Loop section of Minneapolis. As the destination for Twin Citians looking for independent boutiques and eateries, the North Loop was a natural fit for the locally owned InVision and provided owner Anthony Bosca with the perfect setting to feature a curated selection of one-of-a-kind, handcrafted eyewear.
“The area’s vitality and creative energy are irresistible, and we’re honored to be the first optical shop in the neighborhood,” said Bosca. “When I walked into our new space with its soaring ceilings, flooded with natural light, but still showing lots of raw industrial materials, it was love at first sight.”
The vintage yet modern aesthetic of the renovated historic 1912 Northwestern Glass Company building aligns with the artfully cultivated selection of InVision’s classic-meets-current frames. Visitors will find unique collections of frames exclusive to InVision in the Twin Cities, including Robert Marc, Face à Face, SALT, Drift, and Gold + Wood. As with the store fixtures, every pair of glasses and sunglasses are artisan-designed and handcrafted.
Like InVision’s other three area locations, Bosca personally designed the North Loop store to complement the neighborhood’s distinctive charm.
“We combined raw steel with beautifully crafted walnut furniture to reflect the North Loop’s sophisticated yet industrial vibe,” said Bosca. “Everything was built locally, mostly by cabinetmaker Dennis Beitlich. The grand scale of the space demanded art to match, and we’ve chosen several epic pieces by Northeast Minneapolis artist John Alspach, including some works collaged from vintage billboard posters.”
