NEW YORK—Office managers that run multiple-location practices earn, on average, 31.5 percent more than those who manage a single office (see chart below), according to the latest statistics available from Jobson Optical Research’s 2015 ECP Compensation Study.

The same report indicated that the difference in average compensation between single-location and multiple-location practices is smaller for optometrist owner/partners, with those supervising one location making $142,951 and those operating more than one location making on average $160,199, about 12 percent more. For opticians/dispensers, the difference is 17 percent, with opticians/dispensers supervising one location making an average of $47,929 and those running a practice with more than one location making $54,375 on average.
