DULUTH, Ga.—National Vision Inc. (NVI)—an optical retailer providing comprehensive, quality, affordable eyecare and eyewear—announced the grand prize winner and two runner-ups of its 2016-2017 Grant Program.

Stephanie Hubbard of the Inter American University of Puerto Rico won the grand prize of $5,000, while runner-ups Dea Satrio and Jenna Wayne from the University of Houston College of Optometry were awarded $1,000 each.

Now in its third year, the Grant Program asked third and fourth-year optometry students to tackle the topic of technology innovation by submitting a 500-word essay or a short video that shares their perspectives on the impact of technology on the field of optometry in the past and how it will influence their future careers as optometrists. The winner and two runner-up recipients were selected by a panel of judges from NVI.

National Vision operates retail offices under the eyecare brands America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses, Eyeglass World and Vision Centers by Walmart, among others. It is one of the leading optical retail companies in the United States with more than 950 locations in 44 states.
