SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn.—Coburn Technologies announced the expansion of its Lab Works Group and promotion of Charlie Seidel as the Group’s director.

Last year, Coburn announced the formation of its Lab Works Group, focused initially on the development and sale of consumable products to support the U.S. laboratory segment. Building on the success of the new organization, Coburn has now expanded the group to include complete laboratory equipment configurations and coatings.

The Lab Works team of employees within Coburn is tasked specifically with the support of independent optical laboratories including the development of new products, product/process support, and insuring the highest level of value on a lab by lab basis. Coburn’s Coating Support Center and R&D Facility, which is now part of this larger group, is tasked with the development, manufacture and distribution of new and advanced coating formulas including the popular UVMAX.

This new team of employees within Coburn will be headed up by industry veteran Charlie Seidel, who has been part for the optical industry for over 46 years, most recently providing sales support with Coburn to wholesale labs. As part of his new responsibilities, Seidel will lead efforts associated with the development and sale of all products sold to the wholesale laboratory segment.

“Charlie has been a valuable asset to the company for many years and I am confident he will continue to develop and serve the U.S. and international labs in his new role as director,” said Wayne Labrecque, Coburn Technologies’ vice president of sales for the Americas.

Alex Incera, president of Coburn Technologies, added “We are excited about this further expansion of our team and our renewed commitment to independent optical laboratories as we continue with our corporate vision to be the preferred supplier and business partner to the global ophthalmic industry.” ■
