The completely redesigned
OptometryStudents.com website allows for more interaction among the optometry students who visit the site. Created in 2009 by SUNY optometry student, Matthew Geller,
OptometryStudents.com has been relaunched to enable any student to log on, create a profile and immediately start posting content for the entire optometry community to hear. The new
OptometryStudents.com website is a user-centric system with everything focused on the individual student. Anyone who logs on to read an article will now know immediately who wrote it and where they stand in the profession of optometry. Leaderboards are a prominent new feature of the site. Using a “recommend” button, visitors to the site rank content, schools and writers to indicate which schools are writing the most articles, which articles are the most popular and which students are publishing the most articles. The optometry students who manage the site intend to hold monthly conference calls and webinars to allow other students to stay involved with the continuing development of
OptometryStudents.com.
