The annual American Eye-Q survey conducted by the American Optometric Association (AOA) found that 40 percent of Americans worry about losing their eyesight even more than their ability to hear or walk. But what can one do to preserve this precious sense?

According to the AOA, keeping eyes healthy can be incorporated into your daily routine with five sight-saving steps—eye exams, sunglasses, 20/20/20 breaks, green leafy veggies and clean contact lenses.
