We know the July 4th weekend is famous for fireworks and fun, but many optical organizations and public safety advocates are issuing warnings about the dangers of the festivity that have proven to wreak havoc throughout the Independence Day season. Sourcing the U.S. Consumer Safety Products Commission's Fireworks Annual Report, VSP Vision Care, Prevent Blindness and the Academy of Ophthalmology have released some bite-sized statistics and suggestions to increase your chances of making it through celebrations without a trip to the emergency room.
