GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.—Art Optical Contact Lens Inc., a leading provider of custom contact lenses, has announced a travel grant opportunity for optometry students and residents for 2023. As a dedicated supporter of optometric education and to encourage students with an interest in specialty contact lenses, Art Optical will award up to six travel grants, valued at $750 each, to attend a specialty contact lens meeting. Grants will be awarded to four winning optometry students and two winning optometry residents.

Art Optical’s technical team will review all submissions and select winners based on the relevance of the topic to current or future trends in specialty lens fitting, practice or research. Additional details and grant applications can be requested from the cornea and contact lens chief at each U.S. and Canadian optometric university or by contacting Art Optical.

“The Specialty Contact Lens Student Grant Program is a nice addition to the extensive educational resources we provide at Art Optical,” said Bruce Morgan, OD, FAAO, Art Optical’s executive director of research and clinical support. “Encouraging the next generation of ODs to embrace specialty contact lenses by giving them a chance to witness a professional meeting and interact with other specialty fitters will be an invaluable experience in their academic career.”

Interested students and residents can learn more about the travel grant program at ArtOptical.com.
