Ophthalmic Technicians Needed at The Eye Clinic of Florida

Progressive General, Cataract and Refractive Practice Seeks Experienced, Preferably Certified (COA or COT) Ophthalmic Technicians.
We are looking for career professionals who desire a challenging career with others and who pride themselves in doing good work. No unnecessary patient procedures are "sold" here. There is opportunity for career, salary and benefit growth.
Desire to be cross trained in all clinic procedures and testing equipment
Must have at least 2 years experience working in an ophthalmologist's (MD) office. Experience in optical, as an optician's assistant, or assisting in an OD or optometric office is not sufficient. The experience must with an MD.
Be a two handed typist. We use Electronic Medical Records so comfort with the computer as a tool to 1) not tell you what to do but 2) help you document faster.
Must be able to manually refract. (auto-refraction doesn't count).
Must be able to applanation tonometry.
Have excellent written and spoken English Language Skills. Additionally, the same in Spanish is helpful but not required.
Desire a job where you are not a robot. Most tech jobs involve a minimal history, vision, pressure and then you move on to the next patient. Here you are expected to know what happened to the patient last time, why they are here this time, and anticipate where the visit is going so that the patient's experience is the best.
Those with Opticianry-only experience need not apply. This is not a job fitting glasses or teaching contact lens use.
Smokers need not apply. We test pre-employment.
Must Be Drug Free. We test pre-employment.
Must be self motivated to learn and read
Not be prone to missing work often
Appreciate a gossip free work place.
