Clinical Operations Manager

Large, high volume ophthalmology practice in North Georgia is seeking the services of a Clinical Operations Manager.

The person in this role, under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services, is responsible for being a “hands-on” manager over the day to day operations of the clinic. The ideal person in this role will have the ability to remain professional while encouraging clinical team members. This role serves as a role model for staff with a consistently positive, professional attitude being maintained while remaining competent, efficient, and exhibiting exemplary performance of technical skills and patient care. In addition, the ideal person in this role must have an excellent work with a motto of going “above and beyond” in work efforts and never deeming a task as “not my job” if it will contribute to a positive patient experience.


Duties for the person in this role will include, but are not limited to:

Assisting in and/or being responsible for mentoring and training assigned team members whose performance is below clinic standards and expectations.

Responsible for effectively working with other teams, including operations, to insure the Clinic runs smoothly and patients are handled expertly.

Assist with coordination of physicians/optometrists work flow on a daily basis where they are assigned and work collaboratively to coordinate staff resources based on skills, experience and availability.

Contribute to and/or perform clinical skills evaluations.

Responsible for supporting and assisting Clinical Director with clinical training as directed, including but not limited to, new hire training, internal transitioning, mentoring current staff, and providing skills assessments.

Assist in resolution of patient concerns and complaints

Assist with clinical new hire recruiting/interview processes as directed

This role must be able to efficiently juggle supervisory and clinical lead responsibilities and be effective in both roles, without harming clinical flow of assigned physician.

Must deliver superior service to physicians, employees, and patients.

Minimum Education Requirements

Completion of an ophthalmic technician program AND five years of ophthalmic experience AND certification appropriate for the clinical specialty; Certified Ophthalmic Tech OR equivalent education/experience


Minimum Background Requirements

1-3 years working in Physician Practice or like setting

1-3 years experience as Clinical Lead or similar supervisory/management role in healthcare industry

Physical Requirements:

Must be in good physical condition to withstand the stress and demands of an active position.

Manual dexterity, good eye-hand coordination, adequate vision and hearing needed in daily work.

Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 40 pounds

Standing 90% of the time.

Walking 40% of the time.

Bending and stretching 20%

Ability to handle moderate to slightly above moderate levels of routine stress

Minimal environmental hazards.
