Refractive Service Coordinator

Large, high volume ophthalmology practice in North Georgia is seeking the services of a Refractive Service Coordinator.

The person in this role should have extensive ophthalmology experience with specific experience and emphasis coordinating cataract surgery with LASIK services and Femtosecond Laser.

Duties may include any and all of the following:

1. Patient Relations/Marketing/Business Development

Counsel patients regarding refractive surgery procedures with costs, financial options and scheduling

Maintains contact with patients interested in refractive surgery, but have not yet scheduled

Implements the refractive marketing objectives and motivates support staff to participate

Conducts staff training on refractive surgery

Acts as key contact person for all refractive vendors and refractive surgery inquiries, including those from patients, physicians, and staff members

Offers training expertise to surgery schedulers in the area of Refractive Surgery, sales technique, and patient financing options

   Provider Relations

Develops process for co-management of patients, including pre- and post-op protocols, forms for co-management, fee information and payment process, educational materials and optometric staff training.

3.   Administrative Duties

Effectively plans and facilitates monthly refractive meetings in the practice as appropriate

Reports on the refractive volume and outcomes.



Minimum Education Requirements

• Completion of an ophthalmic technician program AND five years of ophthalmic experience AND certification

appropriate for the clinical specialty; Certified Ophthalmic Tech OR_equivalent education/experience,

Minimum Background Requirements

• 1-3 years in Physician Practice or like experience.

• 1-3 years management experience preferred.
