CORAL SPRINGS, Fla.—ABB Optical Group is celebrating the fifth anniversary of its ABB Cares program which has awarded over $50,000 in grants since its inception. ABB Optical Group’s signature community grants program has impacted numerous non-profit organizations, and applications for this year’s ABB Cares program opens on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018. This year, ABB Optical Group will award one ABB Cares platinum grant of $5,000, two gold grants of $2,500 each, and four silver grants of $1,000 to charities nominated by professionals in the eyecare industry.

“We are so excited to celebrate the fifth anniversary of this remarkable program and reflect on its success over the past four years,” said Brad Weinbrum, president of ABB Optical Group. “Year after year, we receive outstanding nominations from eye care professionals who are seeking to further make an impact on their communities. It’s difficult to select only a handful to honor with a grant, as all of the nominated charities are truly exceptional.”

To be considered as a grant recipient, all candidates must comply with the following:

• The organization must be a 501(c)(3) organization and must be able to prove this status.
• The organization's local office must be within 30 miles of the nominating practice's primary location.
• The organization must be located in the United States.
• All applications must be submitted in English.
• Applications must be completed and submitted online.
• The deadline to submit an application is 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday, August 31, 2018.
