OXFORD, U.K.—Adjustable focus eyewear maker Adlens, based here, has announced a series of strategic appointments and promotions within its management team.

The structural changes have been made to reflect the company’s growing needs following the launch of AdlensFocuss, the first prescription eyewear to feature Adlens’ proprietary Variable Power Optics (VPO) technology, the company said.

David Eichelberger has been appointed senior vice president of VPO. In his new role, he will direct the global strategy of AdlensFocuss. As well as building on current operations in the U.S., he will work to launch AdlensFocuss in other global locations. Eichelberger succeeds Megan Molony, who has left the company.

Sue Creek has been appointed vice president of sales and training, and will take on responsibility for all VPO sales revenue, leading the management and training of a team of account managers. David Hunt has been appointed director of VPO customer success and operations, and will manage customer service and communication to AdlensFocuss patients. Mara Nieuwsma has been appointed vice president of global business development, with overall responsibility for developing and delivering new digital and e-commerce strategies in key global markets.

James Methven has been appointed vice president of marketing, assuming responsibility for all global marketing activity. Methven joins Adlens with 20 years of experience in developing brand growth across multiple geographies, connecting marketing activity with overall business objectives. He has managed brand-building programs and launches in Europe, Asia, South Africa and the U.S. for Unilever, Coty, Newell Rubbermaid and Electrolux. All appointments are effective immediately.

“2016 is going to be an extremely busy year for Adlens and it is important for us to start the year with the right organizational structure, driven by exceptional and experienced talent, in place,” said Michael Ferrara, CEO and executive chairman of Adlens.

“We have invested in these appointments based on the necessity for us to meet the growing demand for our groundbreaking technology. I’d like to welcome James to Adlens and congratulate David, Sue, Mara and David on their continued development within the organization. All of them will play a critical role in achieving our business objectives in 2016,” he said.
