NEW YORK—After months of hard work, dozens of entries and hundreds of votes, Vision Monday is proud to announce the winners of our 1st Annual Dispensing and Retail Excellence (D.A.R.E.) Awards. Those winners are:
  • The Seeing Green Award for Most Daring Eco-chievement to Eola Eyes and Shopko Eyecare Centers.
  • The Resistance Is Futile Award for Most Daring Advertising Campaign (print, TV or radio) to Wilson Eye Center and For Eyes Optical.
  • The Lead, Follow or Get Out of the Web Award for Most Daring Social Media or Web Presence (including websites, social networking and viral marketing) to Shady Grove Eye and Vision Care, eyecarecenter and Coastal Contacts Inc.
  • The Sphere of Influence Award for Most Daring Community Outreach, Philanthropic or Patient Education Program to St. Charles Vision and Eye Care Centers of America/Davis Vision.
  • The Shop It Like It’s Hot Award for Most Daring Store Design, Retail Environment, Merchandising and/or Window Display to Valley Vision Optometry.
You may also remember that the judges identified five retailers they felt were worthy of recognition for The “We the People” Readers’ Vote Award. Over the course of two and a half weeks, Eola Eyes, Family Eyecare of Glendale, Luxottica Retail/OneSight, Metro Optics and Robert Marc duked it out for votes among Vision Monday readers.
