Barry Lannon.

HEBRON, Ky.—Carl Zeiss Vision has promoted Barry Lannon to the position of director of lab operations. Lannon will be responsible for the strategic growth, direction and performance of the Zeiss Rx lab network in the U.S. as well as manufacturing and engineering support for Zeiss Rx labs in Canada, Mexico and Brazil. He is based in Hebron, Kentucky and reports to Jens Boy, president of Carl Zeiss Vision, North America.

A Zeiss veteran, Lannon will expand on 30 years of experience he has gained with the company, most recently as director of the manufacturing enablement team, where he was responsible for introducing coatings and free-form lens manufacturing technologies into Zeiss labs in the Americas. He also worked directly with Zeiss customers to bring advanced technologies into their optical labs.

In his new role, Lannon will oversee the expansion and upgrading of the Zeiss lab network next year.

“Our commitment to customers is to provide a lab network that delivers outstanding service and optimum quality,” said Boy. “We will be expanding the Zeiss lab network in early 2018 with additional state-of-the-art upgrades to the Zeiss Hebron, Kentucky, facility—thereby improving our ability to more efficiently give our customers the best in precision lens technologies.”
