GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.—Blue Sky Vision, a portfolio company of the investment group Sterling Partners, has named Candi Hamilton as executive director for central and southern Michigan Blue Sky Vision practices. Hamilton brings more than 22 years of eyecare experience to the company, according to an announcement. Most recently, Hamilton was the specialty director for ophthalmology at NextGen Healthcare in the Glendale, Ariz. In this role, she was the expert on ophthalmic subject matter for 4,000 professionals. Earlier she was the director of clinical operations for Graystone Eye in North Carolina.

“We are excited to welcome Candi to our administrative support team,” Blue Sky Vision chief operating officer Surya Desiraju said in the announcement. “We are confident that Candi’s experience will help our practices continue to provide unmatched eyecare to our patients.”

Formed in early 2017, Blue Sky Vision is a partnership among doctors, members of its leadership team and Sterling Partners. Its goal is to be a model for “unsurpassed patient experience, inspiring and empowering our team through innovation, dedication to excellence, and the creation of opportunity through growth,” according to this week’s announcement.

“We are fortunate to have an executive director with Candi’s experience,” said Bill Hughson, chief executive officer of Blue Sky Vision. “Her expertise in NextGen and operations will be an incredible asset as we grow and support our team of ophthalmologists and optometrists in central and southern Michigan.”

Hamilton also is a certified ophthalmic technician, certified optician and NextGen certified professional. She is a professional presenter at the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), American College of Surgeons Case Report Journal (ACSSCR) and NextGen UGM, according to the announcement.
