MONTREAL, QUEBEC—New Look Vision Group Inc. (BCI.TO) has completed its planned acquisition of the retail optical assets and business portion of western Canadian retailer Visions One Hour Optical Ltd., according to a statement New Look Vision Group issued Tuesday.

Visions One Hour Optical, based in Abbotsford, British Columbia, operates principally under the Visions Optical banner in local communities at 10 retail locations across the Canadian province, according to the statement.

As VMail reported in October when the deal was first announced, Visions One Hour Optical had estimated revenue of $5.2 million in the 12-month period ended July 31, 2016. The purchase price was $6.6 million, subject to customary adjustments, and was financed by New Look Vision from its current banking facilities, New Look Vision announced in Tuesday’s statement.

“With this acquisition completed, New Look Vision establishes its presence in Canada’s third-most populated province, and continues its expansion across Canada,” Antoine Amiel, president and director of New Look Vision, said in the statement. Amiel had noted in October that this acquisition and the move into British Columbia “is another step forward toward our goal of becoming a national player across Canada.”

New Look Vision is a leader in eyecare in Eastern Canada with its network of 221 corporate stores mainly under the New Look Eyewear, Vogue Optical and Greiche & Scaff banners. It also operates its own laboratory facilities.
