SAN DIEGO— Carl Zeiss Vision has promoted Steve Mitrakos to senior vice president, sales, a newly created position. In his new role, Mitrakos will be responsible for the company’s sales in all channels of distribution.

A graduate of Fordham University and The Anderson School of Management at UCLA, Mitrakos joined Carl Zeiss Vision in 2002. He previously held several senior positions within the U.S. business including VP marketing, VP customer marketing and, most recently, VP sales for retail and managed care. He will continue to have overall responsibility for the retail channel, and will now have responsibility for the independent channel.

“Steve’s record of success with our retail and managed care partners speaks for itself,” said Joe Donahoe, president of Carl Zeiss Vision for North America. “His new and expanded role is well-earned, and we are confident he will be even more successful on a larger stage.”
